Chaka Khan
Chaka, or Queen of Funk as she is also called she was an American singer-songwriter. She has won ten Grammys during her career that spans more than fifty years. Billboard has ranked her as the 65th-most successful dancer of all time. She was introduced to jazz when she was a child. The first step in her professional career was singing in various groups. Then, in the near future, she became a member of the group Rufus. With the group, she recorded her first album in her 20s. They won their first Grammy recognition a year after. The singer released her debut self-titled album a few years after her debut solo album. After that, she released numerous albums over the years, like 'Echoes from an Era", 'The Woman I Am', and "Funk It". Apart from her musical acts, her charitable efforts has brought her lots of attention. She created The Chaka Khan Foundation to help kids from families with low incomes, and also those suffering from autism. Khan performs as an actress occasionally. She appeared as the character Sister Carrie on stage in musical "Mama I'm Ready to Sing.'
